Four clear lists
Not following you back, accounts you don’t follow back, mutual connections, and your full followers and following.
Use the follower files Instagram lets you download to see who you follow that doesn’t follow back, who follows you that you don’t follow, and who is mutual. Everything happens inside your browser.
Instagram will give you a copy of your own follower and following lists. Check My Followers reads that copy on your device and does the comparing for you.
Ask Instagram for your “Followers and following” in JSON or HTML, for all time. Here are the steps.
Drop the .zip you receive, or the follower and following files from inside it. Nothing needs unzipping, and nothing is uploaded.
Check the preview, then search, sort and filter each list. Copy usernames or download them as CSV or JSON.
The demo runs a small set of made-up accounts through the same code that reads real exports, so you can see what the results look like first.
The demo needs JavaScript. The checker itself needs it too, because your files are read in the browser instead of on a server.
Everything is free and nothing is held back for a paid plan.
Not following you back, accounts you don’t follow back, mutual connections, and your full followers and following.
Find a username in a list of thousands, sort by name or by the date Instagram recorded, and filter by date range.
Copy selected usernames, or download any list as a CSV or JSON file, with a profile link for each account.
Reads the .zip directly or loose JSON and HTML files, including followers split across followers_1, followers_2 and more.
Add an older and a newer export to see new followers, missing followers and changes in who you follow. Open Compare
A missing name is not proof someone unfollowed you. Every list explains exactly what it contains and what it cannot tell you.
Your follower list says a lot about you, so this tool is built so that it has nowhere to send it.
connect-src 'none', so the browser
blocks the page from making network requests. Open your browser’s network panel and

Paste any two lists of usernames to see what is only in one, only in the other, or in both.

Read the guideThe files are opened and analysed inside your browser tab. The page has no upload code, and its security policy tells the browser to refuse every network request from the page, so even a bug could not send your lists anywhere. You never enter an Instagram username or password. You can confirm this yourself by opening your browser’s network panel while you load a file.
No. It never asks for a password, a session cookie or a login token, and it never connects to your Instagram account. It only reads the follower and following files that Instagram gives you when you download your own information.
Request a copy of your information from Instagram’s Accounts Center, choose “Followers and following”, set the date range to “All time” and choose JSON (HTML also works). Instagram emails you when the download is ready; the file is usually a .zip, which you can add to the checker without unzipping. The guide “How to download your Instagram followers data” has the steps and what to do if a menu looks different.
The original .zip from Instagram, or the individual files inside it: followers_1.json and following.json, or the .html versions. If your account has many followers Instagram splits them into followers_1, followers_2 and so on; add them all and they are combined.
Not necessarily. One export is a snapshot: it shows who is not in your followers list today, not whether they ever followed you. Comparing an older and a newer export shows who disappeared between the two dates, but a deleted, deactivated or renamed account disappears in exactly the same way as someone who unfollowed.
Download your followers data now and again later, then add both exports on the Compare page. Followers who appear in the older export but not the newer one are listed as missing. Instagram does not tell you whether they unfollowed, were removed, or deleted their account.
